Intro

Welcome to my page of stuff. Already, I can hear you asking yourself, "Self... why in the heck would this Ziegler fellow think that his 'stuff' is interesting to the rest of the world!?!" Well, I can think of many reasons why the Internet community might be interested in seeing my personal site but the truth is... this website wasn't made for the world to see. This site serves a few purposes; to act as a creative outlet for my mind, to act as an organizer for some of my other creative outlets, and to allow my extended family to keep track of my immediate family. (They live far away... some of my extended family... not my immediate family)

So... either you are me (which could potentially be very confusing), you are my family/friends, or Googlebot has spidered my website, and something you are interested in matches something that I'm interested in. To self and family/friends... I'm pretty sure you know what you are here to do, so surf on. To the stranger... feel free to browse my site to see if some of my info can fill the holes of yours.

Adam Ziegler

What to do, what to do...

If you are reading this in a pleasant looking gray-box-like layout, then you are probably starting off pretty good. (If all looks good, go ahead and skip the rest of this paragraph.) However if things look like plain text, and/or there are boxes and lines and words all over the place… you need to upgrade your browser. What say you?... I should have designed the website better? Yeah maybe, and up until this website I would have agreed. In fact all of my previous sites have been very "old browser compatible." I decided otherwise on this one, because I like CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). It makes me happy to know that I can change the entire look of this site with a handful of keystrokes in one style sheet file. It is much harder for me to do that with tables. Besides... it would be much easier for you to upgrade browsers! Why use an 8 track when you can play CDs? (I would have said vinyl, because in my opinion it is better than 8 track tapes, and maybe CDs... but the fact that vinyl is older technology than 8 tracks really could have confused the analogy. By the way... those of you using a text only browsers... way to be different!) Ok... don't get lost in that parenthetical. I was talking about upgrading your browser. Try Mozilla (it's free), or Internet Explorer (it's free for some, but not really). Those of you who could have skipped the paragraph, are now probably wishing you would have.

Words of Caution!!!

To me web design should be is more of an art (are you laughing yet) than it is anything else. And now you are saying, "But Adam... Your site looks so plain?! Art?! What are you..." and blah blah blah. Yeah I know what you are saying, but I also believe in making a website easy to navigate. To explain away this imagined kerfuffle, "A canvas tends to be very plain, but what it contains..."

As for the mentioned words of caution, I tend to found of what one could call the "techniques / methodologies" of Veristic Surrealism. (I tend to stand at a distance from Dadaism and the irreverence of Automatism... having that said, I am not an artist.) More importantly, I am Catholic. I strive to treat Catholicism as a "lifestyle", and not just a Sunday morning religion. Now, you have been warned. (By the way... you may have noticed that you are talking to yourself... stop it!)
